Privacy policy
This site doesn't track you.

THE SHORTER VERSION
No cookies. I don't place cookies on your device.
No tracking or analytics. No pixels, tags, fingerprinting, or advertising tools.
Nothing gathered or stored about visitors. I don't build profiles, keep visitor records, or run a database of visitors.
If you write to me, I use what you send only to reply. It's never sold, shared, or added to a mailing list.
1. Who I am
This website is operated by Matthew Ellis LLC, doing business as ellisprivacy.com, the privacy, data protection, and AI governance consulting practice of Matthew Ellis (“I,” “me”). It covers ellisprivacy.com and any page on it.
2. Cookies and tracking
I do not use cookies. I also do not use web beacons, pixels, analytics tools, session recording, advertising or retargeting tags, social media trackers, or browser fingerprinting. Nothing on this site follows you to other websites, and there is no cookie banner because there is nothing to consent to.
I have not enabled any optional analytics or marketing features offered by my hosting provider.
3. Information I don't collect or store
Browsing this site is anonymous to me. I do not gather or store information about visitors, including:
your name, email address, or other identifiers
your location, IP address, or device details
which pages you view, how long you stay, or what you click
There are no accounts, logins, newsletters, or downloads that require you to give me anything.
4. If you contact me
The only way I receive personal information through this site is if you choose to send it, either through the “Let's connect” form or by emailing me directly. The form asks for your name, email address, and a message.
Purpose: I use what you send only to read and reply to your message.
No other use: I don't add you to a mailing list, sell or rent your information, share it for marketing, or use it to train AI systems.
Retention: Your message is delivered to my business inbox. I keep it only as long as it's needed for our conversation, then delete it. The website itself does not keep a database of submissions.
If you'd prefer not to use the form, you can reach me by email or LinkedIn instead.
5. Hosting provider
This site is hosted on Squarespace. Like any web host, Squarespace's servers must briefly process basic technical information, such as your IP address and browser type, to deliver pages to you and protect the site from abuse. The host may also use strictly necessary security measures, such as protecting the contact form against spam. That processing is handled by Squarespace under its own privacy policy. I don't use it to identify, track, or profile visitors.
6. Links to other sites
This site links to other services, such as LinkedIn and Apple Podcasts. Those sites have their own privacy practices, which I don't control. Please review their policies before sharing information with them.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, laws such as the GDPR, UK GDPR, and U.S. state privacy laws (including the CCPA/CPRA) may give you rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information. Because I don't collect information about visitors, the only information I could hold about you is a message you sent me. You can ask me at any time to tell you what I have or to delete it, and I'll respond promptly.
I do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under California law.
8. Children
This site is meant for business audiences and is not directed to children under 16. I don't knowingly receive information from children.
9. Changes to this policy
If my practices change, for example if I ever add a tool that uses cookies, I'll update this page and its effective date before the change takes effect.
